great game vs Auburn - Apr 14, 2015

We played Auburn University on Friday April 10th at 5PM at the Sicard Hollow Sports Complex in Birmingham, AL (4700 Sicard Hollow Rd Vestavia Hills, AL 35242). Ole Miss led 5-3 after the first quarter of play and trailed 9-7 heading into the half. The long dormant offense for Ole Miss woke up in this game and fought to win all 4 quarters. This was the first time all season long whereby Ole Miss scored 10 goals or more. Midfielder Owen Penn had 4 goals and an assist, leading the Rebels in points, while Attackman Charlie Butterworth tallied four goals as well. In the end, a solid team from Auburn edged us out by a final score of 15-12. We wish to thank the officials and the good people at Sicard Hollow who made the space available for both of our teams. A special thank you goes to 14 year old Oxford Middle School student Caston who joined us on this trip and kept excellent records for our scoresheet.

Ole Miss vs Georgia - Apr 6, 2015

We played the University of Georgia on Friday night April 3rd at 6PM on Field #1 of the Oxford Lafayette Sportsplex. The address is 2330-2498 MS Hwy 7 S Oxford, MS 38655, and a map of the field layout may be found in our photo gallery. The Rebel Lacrosse program wishes to thank the Oxford Lafayette Sportsplex for offering their fine facilities to us on short notice. Although we were unsuccessful in our bid to defeat a strong lacrosse team from Georgia last week, establishing a connection with the outstanding fields and facilities at the Oxford Lafayette Sportsplex has proven to be a big victory for our program, and we look forward to playing there again.

historic victory over Vanderbilt - Mar 30, 2015

Prior to our game last Friday night in Nashville against the Commodores of Vanderbilt University, the Ole Miss men's lacrosse team had played Vandy 4 times and had lost each and every time dating back to 2010. That all changed on the back of Kevin Allen's 4 goals and the Rebels surviving a gutsy 4th quarter Vanderbilt comeback, edging the Commodores by a final score of 9 to 8. Next up: another team the Rebels aim to defeat for the first time in the history of our program, the Bulldogs from the University of Georgia.

post Tuscaloosa trip - Feb 23, 2015

We had a great week of practice leading up to our games in Tuscaloosa this past weekend. Last Friday night was a cold and windy one in Alabama. Our game against the Crimson Tide was a very competitive, closely fought contest. We played every minute of every quarter, and it came down to the wire, but we came up just short in the end losing 8 to 6. The following day we faced the Ragin' Cajuns of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. It was another hard fought game that ended in a tie after 4 quarters of play. After losing the opening face off of the sudden victory overtime period, long stick midfielder Adam Silva made an outstanding defensive play to put the ball on the ground. Attackman Nick Taras then hustled to scoop it up and push the ball to X. The ball then worked it's way to the stick of midfielder Owen Penn who promptly made a terrific dodge, shot the ball and scored to win the game for the Rebels: our first victory this season. Next up: a road trip to Columbia, MO to face the Redbirds of Illinois State and the Missouri Tigers. Go Rebels!

Away Games in Baton Rouge, LA - Feb 6, 2015

We're a young team with hopes to make the SELC playoffs for the first time. We faced two very solid teams last weekend in LSU and Texas A&M, and while we did not come away from our trip to Baton Rouge with a W, we learned a lot and demonstrated strong character by not throwing in the towel after getting down 9-1 in the first half of the LSU game and 5-1 after the first quarter against the Aggies. With more disciplined play and greater focus on controlling the ball on offense against GA Tech at home this Saturday Feb 7th at 1PM, we hope to win an important divisional contest. Go Rebels!
